Blue Ridge Potters Guild Workshop with Rick Hensley

Rich Hensley Rick Hensley is an internationally known "16 Hands" potter who resides in Floyd, VA and teaches ceramics at Hollins University.

Rick will teach us how to make a one-piece plaster mold using coddle boards. Each participant will cast one mold using this method. Rick will also demonstrate how to make a two piece mold as well as slip casting.

Guild Provides: coddle boards and plaster
Participants Bring: small, glazed bowl or plate from which to make a mold
5 lbs of clay, any cone or type
Clamps 4 - 3" or 4" C clamps
