On Nov 8-9th the Blue Ridge Potters Guild will return to Patrick Henry High School for our Annual Show and Sale.
What will you find at the show?
LOTS OF POTTERY!!!
Pottery provides endless opportunities for artistic expression. This is exemplified by our show with over 40 potters adding their personal touch to a variety of styles and techniques.
From decorative to functional, ornate to minimalist, large to small, and everything in between, there’s something for everyone!
DEMONSTRATIONS
Throughout the weekend our members showcase their skills, providing educational opportunities for customers and experienced potters alike. From basic wheel throwing, sculpting, and handbuilding to more advanced decorative techniques and tool demonstrations, every participant can learn something new. You might even have the chance to muddy up your fingers with some hands-on activities!
DOOR PRIZES
Every attendee has the opportunity to win an original piece of pottery, all donated by our members. Last year over 25 door prizes were awarded over the course of the weekend.
THE GALLERY
Our guild members have the option of entering a piece for judging in The Gallery, which is on display at the show entrance. Awards are given for a variety of categories such as “Best Use of Glaze”, “Best Hand Built Piece”, “Best Use of Decoration”, and the coveted “Potter’s Choice Award”.
